Ingredients Needed:

1. Toast the Oats

Toast the oats in a skillet over medium-heat until fragrant. Remove from the heat and transfer to large bowl to cool.

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients

Once cool, mix in the salt, chocolate whey protein powder, and cocoa powder.

3. Mix the Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the sourdough discard (or active starter), honey, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.

4. Mix Together

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and use a spatula to mix together until you have a crumbly granola mixture.

5. Prepare Pan

Line a 9x9" square baking pan with parchment paper. Dump sourdough granola mixture into pan and press down into corners.

6. Bake

Bake at 350ºF (177ºC) for 20-25 minutes until the granola pulls away from the sides and the top is dry.

7. Cool & Cut

Cool for 5 minutes and then slice into 12 sourdough granola bars.
