Sourdough Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

Dough Ingredients:

1. All-Purpose Flour 2. Granulated Sugar 3. Salt 4. Sourdough Starter 5. Milk 6. Water 7. Egg 8. Butter

Filling Ingredients:

1. Raisins 2. Dark Rum (or black tea) 3. Dark Brown Sugar 4. Cinnamon 5. Flour 6. Egg

Make Dough

1. Mix together the wet & dry ingredients. 2. Add a TBS of butter at a time until the dough passes the windowpane test.


1. Proof the dough until it's doubled in size. 2. Place in refrigerator overnight.

Make Filling

1. The next day, combine the cinnamon, dark brown sugar, and flour together. 2. Add rum & raisins to a saucepan and let soak.

Roll Dough & Add Filling

1. Roll out the chilled dough into a large rectangle. 2. Top with egg wash, filling, and rum raisins.

Roll Up Dough

1. Roll up the dough into a snug cylinder. 2. Place into a bread loaf pan for final proof.

Final Proof

1. Proof the dough until it rises above the pan and is full of air.


1. Bake at 375ºF for 45 minutes. 2. Let cool.
